wow! Looks like Im not the ONLY NIGHT person here! Im still up..creating mandalas.

I made a huge pot of chicken soup yesterday in between my tomato sauce batches.  It's loaded with pearl barley, assorted beans (black, pinto, brown, white and pink), minced veggies and extra lean ground chicken.  It's very filled and satisfying and high in protein & fibre. So that's what I eat for lunch, supper & snacks and my protein shake from breakfast.

I have no head hunger anymore due to my subliminal CD and also because I use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to help myself remain in control when I have a sudden cravings or temptation.

It's been hot here all week and now, for the weekend, RAIN STORMS!   Im looking forward to meeting Joyce & John for dinner tonight and Joyce's youngest daughter, JJ.

Well, my "baby" is on his way home from work...his part time job for a little extra $$$ since his BIG season is WINTER for his business.  He has THREE dumptrucks & articulated V-plows ready and a pickup truck w/ a straight blade (& industrial salt spreader) more suitable for smaller residential driveways...so his business is really growing.

Oh yes, I didnt mention what his part-time job is, did I...he is a BOUNCER at a local club (mama is so proud-rolls her eyes ) but he says it pays his gas for all of his dumptrucks.  Yes, there is dignity in ALL work. *s* He is 6'4 and 275 pounds so he is GOOD at it....lol.

LOL! Nancy, I think your hubby's part time job rocks...it is so...manly!!
Your food sounds great, I love beans. In AZ, we have fresh veggies all year round so I am blessed. I have been known to have beans and eggs for breakfast (my New Mexico influence no doubt).
My cravings are subsided also, I will never "taste" anything at anyone's prompying anymore, I simply say "I do not eat when I am not hungry".
I establish the validity of anything I put in mouth, such a blessing indeed.
With our different time zones, jobs, and sleeping patterns, this is definitely a 24/7 forum. Smile...so good to see you girl!

Good Morning Linda and Friends,
had my pcp visit yesterday...my thyroid levels were way off..dah? She said she couldn't believe I could stay awake all day. I thought my depression was getting worse was the reason for lack of energy after work. My loss of large amts of hair also was the thyroid prob. I convinced her to check mine more often especially with changes coming with poss upcoming wls. My hair texture also was changed to a fine fuzz with no shine. Thanks Linda for encouraging me to get that checked...yes, I know I'm a nurse but when it comes to myself I think differently. I also lost 2 more pounds...she was pleased with my wt loss of 32#. My other labs came back excellent.
My sugar was slightly elevated but less than last visit. Started my new dose of thyroid med this am, I know it'll take a few wks to take effect but I'm so relieved it's something that can be fixed. Go back in 2 months for a recheck.

Alice, I am so happy you has your tests done. Nurse's tend to be care takers. You come first!! I predict your hair will come back, it maybe baby fuzz now, but with Annettes suggestion about vitamins, , and I would like to add flaxseed to that The most important of course is that you will be healthier.
Never forget doctors work for US. They are not the grand poo bobs some of them seem to think they are.
I find getting them to put things in writting makes them re-think much.
Good show girl!!
Hugs!

I just had a bowl of pinto beans for breakfast.  I guess it might be a midnight snack actually, since I am going to bed in 2 hours or so.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

This is my first time actually looking at this thread.  I figure if I am going to hang around, I need to look around.  When you post here, do you post what you ate yesterday, or what you intend to eat today?  Just curious.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

We usually post what we are going to eat for today. We are not always perfect in keeping to it but at least it gives us some center on where we need to be. It tends to help us to stay honest too. We still go with the flow so to speak but it helps us to make better choices for ourselves. We also get to know each other and get some ideas from others who post on here. It is kind of like a ritual like the morning post is to us too.

Linda is extremely good on knowing nutrition and what we need or what our food plan for the day is lacking. I respect her a lot. Besides, she is a sweetie too.

Welcome, George and we hope that we see each morning too.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hiya Brenda, let's keep in mind that I am not a professional, and I stay out  of people's plates, unless they ask an opinion, to which we all chime in.
LOL! Hugs!

Hey there, some people write what they ate the prior day, most of us post our plans for the day at hand. It does not matter. It is whatever keeps you honest and focused. I plan my menu for the day,as it keeps my mind off of food. I do not always eat it all,and I never eat large meals. I allow myself healthy snacks in writing so if I do eat it, it is part of my plan, thus, it is not a compulsive act.
So George, I would say it is what ever floats your boat.
it's all about what works for you.
